for the king, baby!
I'm actually a non-member, but I am so glad to have attended the CFC - Youth for Christ (Catholic version; counter organization YFC) conference this year in Sydney - http://oceaniayouthconference.org/ I had the chance when my dad temporarily took over coordinating CFC - YFC here in Adelaide. The event was attended by 700 people from all over Oceania (close to 40 from Adelaide, if I'm not mistaken).
I have met a lot of interesting young people and made friends even though I did feel a bit out of place at the start. I attended a huge youth conference where I didn't know anyone and somehow I felt too old to join youth activities. It also reminded me of my two younger bros who used to run conferences like this lol. I did think of running away during day 1, but hey I'm glad I didn't, and not because the location is too far away from anything and is on the outskirts of the city, but because other than somehow feeling out of place, if you just don't think too much and just enjoy, the whole experience was just AMAZING. There were also workshops, dance, band competitions, and sports - pretty much like that fun experience you get when trying to win the school intramurals.
What amazed me the most was seeing how inspired these different youth were in giving glory to God. Like seriously, I wonder where they're getting that energy, that so much passion. Like arrgh, beyond words, can't really explain. And oh, did I mention that they have like the most awesome praise and worships songs?
Such an unforgettable experience.
Until next time,
P.
